Triangle Offense to give you a feel for how it works. There are
considerably more options and scoring possibilities than shown
here. If you are interested in learning more I highly encourage
you to read Tex Winter's book The Sideline Triangle or take a look at
his video series or other books and videos on the market that explain
and demonstrate the various versions of the Triangle Offense. The
Triangle Offense is not for everyone. It requires at least two
scorers, a mastery of the fundamentals of one man, two man and three
man automatic plays, and an ability to pass and execute ball movement
basis without a high number of turnovers. It is also an offense
that requires player patience for the high percentage
shot.

Plays

Score Volume 1 Plays 1-25
In today's
game the
inbound
assault could account
for a large part of
your offensive scoring opportunities. Many teams will inbound the
ball
from the sideline and baseline between 12-20 times during a game.
If
you can score on half of those opportunities you have scored 12-20
points on your inbound plays. With the abundance of great
three-point
shooters this total might be even higher for some teams. For many
teams this accounts for 20% or more of their scoring average.
This is
why we always attack to score on all inbounds situations in our front
court.

40 pages
This booklet is Volume 1
of a
two-booklet set of 50 sideline plays
designed to score. This booklet contains plays 1-25. The
majority of the plays are designed to work against a pressure
player-to-player defense. There are several that are designed to get a
quick hitter from the sideline against a zone defense. I have
found that it is easier and more productive to get a safe entry and run
one of my zone quick hitters or my regular zone offense against a
passive or packed in zone defense.
I have tried to separate
the plays
by the most logical setup the
players use to initiate the play. The box set has the players set
up in some sort of rectangular or squared formation. The stack
has the players or most of the players stacked in a line near the
ball. The mixed set is an irregular formation that has the
players set up in mixed or random sets.

Shuffle
Offense
Though most coaches hold widely divergent
views on offensive
basketball. Most would agree that the ideal is an offense that will
keep all players constantly occupied and that will work equally well
against all defenses - zone, man-to-man, match-up, pressure and
switching.
The Shuffle Offense is designed to use
all players in a rotating
pattern. The Shuffle Offense is predicated on the team concept, on ball
control and player movement. And upon a flow of play which provides
many opportunities for scoring.
The Shuffle Offense's true positive aspects
are its action, its
constantly changing appearance and its confusion and frustration for
the opponent. The Shuffle Offense carries with it the entire spectrum
of the game of basketball. Includes 13 variations of the shuffle
offense.

Cal Motion Offense
Motion offense is an
offense where the basketball reacts to the movement of the
players. Motion offense does not have a predetermined order of
movement by the ball or players. The foundation of the offense is
players executing sound fundamentals, reading the defense, and making
good decisions through recognition. All five players are
constantly moving to different floor positions to take advantage of
opportunities presented by the defense. |

Pack
- Defensive System
The system is predicated on keeping the ball out of the middle via the
pass or dribble. Constant ball pressure is applied and each
off-the-ball defender is responsible for keeping the ball out of the
paint. The drills for teaching this defense are diagrammed from
one-on-one to five-on-five.
The pack evolved
out of the necessity to stop basket penetration.
If the players are unselfish and will commit to covering for one
another this defense will be stop penetration. The number one threat
for any defense is the ability to take the ball to the basket and make
plays off the dribble. The Pack defense will allow you to pressure the
ball beyond the 19'9'' area, keep the ball out of the low post and out
of the lane, and prevent the three point shot.
Pack Defense Foundations
The Pack is built on two objectives:
Stop the ball
Get the ball

5
Man
Open
Post
Offense
This is a great
resource for anyone who wants to run a 5 out open post offense or for a
coach looking for some fresh ideas to complement his current motion
offense. It is also useful for a coach who plays against an
open post offense and needs more information in order to make necessary
defensive adjustments to the offense.
This booklet breaks down the motion offense into it’s simplest form.
And
then takes those simple forms, going from one to the next, and the next
which ends up making it a complex offense. Huggins loves the
offense because it is a player’s offense. It is an offense that
improves your players, and makes your team better as the season
progresses. The offense is based on the oldest play in
basketball, the give and go. This makes the offense very hard to
scout. The offense will not do the same thing twice in a row
which makes it hard to defend. The offense will react to what the
defense does. This will open up a whole multitude of what the offense
can do. The players are taught how to react to what the defense
does. This booklet explains how to set up 2 man plays, 3 man
plays,
and shows how to implement them. Players not involved with
the ball must play without interfering with the play while keeping good
spacing. If the defense over helps get the ball to them and they
can make
plays.
Spacing is discussed along with the five options that are available
when the ball is passed. Only three of
these are good with pass and stand and pass and replace not being
used. This offense concentrates on the pass and go to the ball,
pass and go to the basket, and pass and screen away.
